Question: Where do you spend the majority of your time in Amateur radio these days? Do you chase DX or just ragchew? Maybe you are into satellites or enjoy chasing the grids on VHF/UHF or maybe just using repeaters for the occasional contact. Question: Do you QSL? Do you think it is the "final courtesy of a QSO" and reply to absolutely everything you receive or a complete waste of time and money? Question: A couple of years back I posed the question about the WIA's performance since going National. That poll suggested that 75% of you thought it was at least slightly better since the change! Well two and a half years down the track do you still think they are doing a good job? Should be interesting!

Question: How much have you spent or think you might spend this year on amateur radio? Include all those hidden costs ie: qsling, cards, antennas, radio's, shack mods and accessories, travel etc etc. An educated guess is fine....no need to verify with receipts :-) So the question really is, on average, are we still able to have an inexpensive hobby?

Question: Do you think that the introduction of the Foundation Licence has been a positive move for Amateur Radio in Australia? Question: "No members in our club under 60" What does this mean for Amateur radio? I did an analysis the last time I entered the All Asia contest where the age is the exchange and the average operator age was 47 in Japan (on HF at least) What would it be in Australia overall? Let me know your age in the survey below. Maybe the Foundation licensees might help lower the average and maybe lengthen the longevity of Ham radio in VK? The results may invoke some thoughts as to where Amateur radio is headed?

Question: Will you join the National WIA? Maybe join both or will you stay a member of a state based organisation only (if this is still going to be an option)? Have you been a member before but have been disillusioned but now feel this could be the time to rejoin or will even this change still not be enough to make you join because you think things will never change no matter who is in charge?. Please take the time to consider this and lets see if the National WIA is going to attract existing and importantly new members or fail one of its primary goals!

Question: The latest "Hot topic" is the creation of an Entry level license for Amateur Radio in Australia - more than likely to be along the lines of the class that was introduced in the UK by the RSGB. Have your say here on a couple of the ideas put forward. Whatever you do get involved in this debate as it is proposing the biggest change to AR in Australia in many years. I for one hope that moves comes out of all this that help boost this great hobby of ours! ( this was announced, along with many other changes to Amateur Radio in Australia, to be implemented in early 2005 by the ACA at the end of May 2004)

Question: A National Wireless Institute - should we change? (..........and finally (in May 2004) we did!)
It has been proposed to move to National WIA which means that we would have a single body representing VK amateurs nationally and internationally, instead of separate state based divisions. This already has the support of the current WIA federal president and others in our administration. How do you the members, or potential members, feel about this? A complex question I know but lets just get a straight forward answer to crux of the matter - do you think we should change to one body or stay as we are?--------YES or NO. This is an extremely important matter for all of us so please let your feelings be known - not just here but to your state division councillors etc. Let the membership decide!

Question: If the Entry Level class is introduced should all "existing" license holders be upgraded automatically to Unrestricted leaving only two classes of Amateur Radio in Australia? This has been proposed leaving only the "new" people to become "Entry Level" license holders or "Unrestricted" depending on which exams they sit.
